Environment and Ethics
We believe in causing the least possible damage to the natural environment and operate an environmental policy that seeks to keep our impact to the minimum.
Alongside ensuring we comply with all relevant environment legislation and regulations, we work with suppliers who are either local or consider food miles. We analyse the use of our vehicles to reduce mileage where we can and will be investing in more LPG fuelled vans in the future. The packaging we use for orders is recycled. As an overall approach we recycle wherever we can and actively discourage waste. We are always looking for ways to reduce it, including stripping out the use of unnecessary packing materials. We keep our pollution and emissions to a minimum.
We also operate an ethical trading policy requiring all our suppliers to comply with legislation on Health and Safety, Employment and Discrimination. We actively encourage our suppliers to apply the principles of the Ethical Trading Instittue (ETI). This includes ensuring that working conditions are safe and hygienic, child labour is not used, living wages are paid, working hours are inexcessive, and no harsh or inhumane treatment is allowed.
